Fourth Health Fair - SJBSM
The Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) and Community Medicine Program of San Juan Bautista School of Medicine received more than six hundred people to offer them a multidisciplinary activity called, “Feria de Salud Comunitaria”. On this day, participants where provided with services like: vaccination against influenza, cardiological evaluation with electrocardiogram and visual, glucose, BMI and blood pressure evaluation. Moreover, we offer the opportunity to donate blood as well as workshops of yoga, zumba and the orientation on topics like: nutrition, chronic diseases, STD’s, and prostate and breast cancer. All our services were provided by a great collaboration of public health students, members of the “Asociación Puertorriqueña de Estudiantes de Salud Pública (APESP)”, nursing students and medical students from our institution and from United States, members of the LMSA.

SANTUARIO LAZARO VISIT
As you will see in the pictures, we had a full-house of doggies who welcomed us with opened arms (paws and legs I should say). Tamara Copo, Sara Kurtevski and myself had the chance to bring your donations, play with the dogs, clean their cages, help them learn how to walk on a leash, give them treats and just spend a wonderful afternoon with them.

Building Capacity - A Case for Care Integration Symposium
Last August 9-10, 2018, representatives from both: the Doctor of Medicine Program and the Nursing Program represented our Institution introducing the research project:
“Mental Well-being Analysis of the Puerto Rican after Hurricane Maria”
The outstanding presentation was held in the Puerto Rico Disaster Preparedness and Response: Building Capacity - A Case for Care Integration Symposium celebrated in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
