Diversity and Inclusion at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine

Based on the generally accepted definitions of Diversity as, all the ways we differ and makes us unique, sometimes these differences we are born with and cannot change and sometimes these differences are social, economic and cultural that we can modify; and, Inclusion as the way of putting the concept and practice of diversity into action, the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine embrace all the strengths that each person of the academic community brings to the institution, and is committed to create an environment of involvement, respect, and connection of ideas, backgrounds, and perspectives to create health care professional ready to serve to the diverse populations they will encounter their future careers.

We embrace diversity in its broadest forms, encompassing and exploring the dimensions of not only racial and ethnic diversity, but also sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and socioeconomic background.

A fundamental goal of the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine is to help to foster a climate where all members of our faculty, students and staff experience a true sense of belonging, respect, and feel that they matter, can thrive and contribute their best work.
