Clinical Sciences

Welcome to the Clinical Sciences campus of Escuela de Medicina San Juan Bautista, located at the San Juan Bautista Medical Center, in close proximity to the school premises. The Medical Center provides state of the art facilities and medical faculty that will assure an education of excellence for third and fourth year students. The Clinical years at the San Juan Bautista Medical Center are focused in training physicians whose interest is primary care, particularly in this era of healthcare reform.

The office of the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs is located in the 8th floor of the San Juan Bautista Medical Center. The Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs has the ultimate responsibility for the supervision of academic clinical faculty and students, and serves as liaison between the medical school, the hospital administration and the clinical faculty.

The Clinical Sciences campus is on a trajectory toward its maximum growth potential, with the addition of modern diagnostic therapeutic equipment, clinical research initiatives and new methodologies in teaching.

The clinical sciences faculty is a heterogeneous competent group, who is not only committed to the education and training of medical students, but also serve as exemplary role models. There are forty-two academic physicians, including, full-time, part-time and ad-honorem appointments. Our highly qualified faculty has been instrumental to the successful education of our students and residents.

Functions

The Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences has the ultimate responsibility for the supervision of academic clinical faculty and students, and serves as liaison between the medical school, the hospital administration and the clinical faculty.

Dr. Ramos also assists in coordinating students’ clinical practices in the Caguas municipality under the “Caguas, Ciudad Saludable” program. She also participates and assists in various projects with the Pediatrics residents.
