Requirements for Admission to Programs

Applicants with one of the following qualifications are eligible for appointment:

1. Graduates of Medical Schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). These candidates should have approved at least one part of the Puerto Rico Medical Licensing Board Examination or one part of the USMLE
2. Graduates from non-accredited Medical School should have one of the following:
   1. Valid Certificate from the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
   2. Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction.
   3. Graduate from Medical School outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited Medical School.
